Students, trainees and apprentices were honoured at the NCTJ Awards for Excellence gala dinner and ceremony at Hampton Court Palace on Thursday, 23 November.

NCTJ chairman Kim Fletcher welcomed delegates to the 2017 Journalism Skills Conference with a message that in an industry experiencing permanent change, the constant element of trust has never been more important.

Unconscious bias, mental health and disability were on the agenda at the inaugural diversity in journalism seminar from the National Council for the Training of Journalists, which took place yesterday, 18 October, at Google News Lab in London. 

Three Journalism Diversity Fund recipients were presented with bursaries yesterday as part of the annual celebratory event, which was hosted by Google News Lab at their King’s Cross offices.
