My work experience placement at the New Statesman came about quite by chance. I was looking at the websites of my favourite newspapers and current affairs magazines with an eye to my up-coming work experience when I saw that the New Statesman was ‘working actively with selected charities to offer work experience to students from low-income families and under-represented group.’
