In the charity’s annual report, Kim said the industry had been “rocked by scandal” in recent years but maintained that journalism is a “vital trade” in which NCTJ graduates should be prepared to play a leading role.
He added the NCTJ had taken steps to adapt to the changes in the industry by introducing compulsory ethics training and continuing to place an emphasis on digital skills.
The NCTJ’s annual report showcases the charity’s work during 2012-13, including publication of the Diploma in Journalism and National Qualification in Journalism results.
