NCTJ-accredited course provider Staffordshire University has secured European funding to recruit a community editor for its successful student news site.

The StaffsLive news service, run by journalism students at the University, is expanding due to popular demand.

The site, first launched five years ago as a platform for students to showcase their work, is on the lookout for a community managing editor after winning five-figure HEIF funding. The new position offers an initial 16-month contract.

The site has provided a platform for young reporters on the NCTJ-accredited BA and MA Journalism courses to showcase skills and gain practical experience in the industry and for many, has been a key factor in securing employment after graduation.
