The shortlist for the third round of bursaries has now been announced and eight aspiring journalists will be interviewed by a panel of editors and senior journalists next month.
The Journalism Diversity Fund interviews will take place at The Guardian, London, on Friday, 2 December, and interviewees will be asked various questions about their passion for journalism, financial need and diversity.

Successful interviewees will be awarded a bursary to cover the cost of their journalism training at an NCTJ-accredited centre. A contribution towards travel or living expenses may also be awarded depending on financial need.

For those who missed this deadline, an extra round has been added this year to give more people the opportunity to apply for a bursary. The closing date for applications is Friday, 16 December.

The next schedule for funding journalism training in the academic year September 2012 – August 2013 will be available on the Journalism Diversity Fund website shortly.
