NCTJ launches mobile careers website

The NCTJ has launched a dedicated mobile website to provide careers advice to prospective journalism students.

The NCTJ has launched a dedicated mobile website to provide careers advice to prospective journalism students.

The site, which can be accessed by visiting www.nctj.mobi from any mobile phone or tablet, provides easy access to information about different journalism career paths and training options. There are also details about the Journalism Diversity Fund that can help students from diverse backgrounds fund their training.

The site was developed in response to the ongoing expansion of mobile internet services (according to research*, mobile internet access will overtake desktop access by 2014) and the fact that more and more people are using mobile devices in their daily lives for work or study. It is also not possible for everyone to access careers libraries and advisors and it can be difficult to source the information students require.

The NCTJ hopes that providing careers resources in this way will help ensure students get the information they need to make informed decisions.
