NCTJ celebrates National Careers Week 2025

The NCTJ is celebrating National Careers Week 2025 (3-8 March) by offering expert guidance to aspiring and working journalists and highlighting the pathways into the industry.

As part of the nationwide campaign, which aims to help young people explore career options, the NCTJ is sharing advice from working journalists and answering questions about journalism training.

The NCTJ is supporting careers week by sharing advice from journalists working in a range of roles and answering the commonly asked questions about the different training routes available.

The NCTJ’s ambassadors are also visiting schools across the UK, as they continue to inspire young people and champion quality, trust and diversity in journalism. Click here to find out more and book an ambassador visit.

Joanne Forbes, chief executive at the NCTJ, said: “National Careers Week is a great opportunity to highlight the many pathways into journalism and the value of NCTJ accreditation. Our qualifications set the industry standard, equipping journalists with the essential skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a fast-changing media landscape.”

Through the Journalism Skills Academy, the NCTJ also offers continuing professional development (CPD), helping journalists at all stages of their careers to enhance their expertise. From artificial intelligence in journalism and specialist skills areas, to leadership and management training, the NCTJ supports journalists in developing the skills they need to succeed in an evolving industry.
