NCTJ announces Digital Journalism Seminar

The National Council for the Training of Journalists is to run an exciting one-day seminar on 20 October 2011, at Press Association in London, focusing on integrating digital journalism skills into training.

The National Council for the Training of Journalists is to run an exciting one-day seminar on 20 October 2011, at Press Association in London, focusing on integrating digital journalism skills into training.

The seminar will include a mix of editors, journalists and trainers who are at the forefront of digital journalism developments. Delegates will also be encouraged to share their own practice and experience.

It is designed for those responsible for teaching multimedia reporting skills on NCTJ-accredited courses or in the newsroom and will also be useful for anyone that needs to improve their knowledge of digital journalism.

The seminar will cover how to train students and trainees in newsgathering using digital and social media.  It will also include media law developments related to digital media including copyright and privacy for user generated content and social networks.

In addition it will include digital journalism techniques for getting the story first and breaking the news as well as gaining an appreciation of pictures and graphics.
