Lambeth College head of journalism joins NCTJ board

Roz McKenzie, head of journalism at Lambeth College, has been appointed as a director and trustee of the NCTJ.

Roz McKenzie, head of journalism at Lambeth College, has been appointed as a director and trustee of the NCTJ.

An NCTJ alumna, Roz has taught on NCTJ-accredited courses at the college since 2005. Most recently, she has been involved in pilot project for NCTJ journalism apprentices, with the first cohort of apprentices graduating in November 2015. Roz is a member of the trailblazer apprenticeship working group and a former member of the NCTJ accreditation board.

Roz began her journalism career in 1997 as a features editor and news reporter for the National News Press Agency. She was a features reporter for the News of the World before moving into freelance work as a reviewer for the News of the World, and journalist for Mail on Sunday, daily nationals, women’s magazines, Channel 5 news, and Exclusive Press and PR. Roz joined Lambeth College in 2005.

She continues to combine freelance journalism work with running the journalism programme at Lambeth College.

Roz said: “It is an honour to be asked to join the NCTJ board to help maintain standards and the relevance of this top class training in the industry, both now and into the future.”
