The NCTJ’s accreditation chief, Michelle Lewis, will be leaving the NCTJ at the end of April to join her brother’s business which is launching in the UK.

Michelle is joining Mycroburst, a graphic-design crowdsourcing website, as director of communications.

Joanne Butcher, the NCTJ’s chief executive, said: “Michelle has done a wonderful job for the NCTJ for the last two years, taking the industry’s accreditation scheme to a new level of professionalism as well as contributing to the wider work of the charity. Michelle has recruited scores of editors from all sectors of the media who have willingly given up their time to join accreditation panels and to work with the NCTJ to develop the standard for pre-entry courses in partnership with our journalism schools.”

The NCTJ will be appointing a successor during the summer to run the industry’s accreditation scheme and to lead on other projects.

For this full-time role an experienced NCTJ qualified journalist is needed with the skills and confidence to take responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the accreditation scheme. Candidates will be passionate about high journalism standards and will have worked at a senior level in the media. Successful applicants will be highly organised self-starters, receptive to change and good communicators with excellent relationship management and administration skills.

Informal enquiries may be made to Joanne Butcher by telephone 01799 544930 or email joanne.butcher@nctj.com. Further information about the NCTJ’s accreditation scheme is available at www.nctj.com.
