The National Council for the Training of Journalists is delighted to announce that Google is to be a headline sponsor of the fifth annual Journalism Skills Conference.

Taking place in Nottingham on 28 and 29 November, the conference will open at Nottingham Trent University with the main sessions at Nottingham Conference Centre and the awards reception and dinner at the Nottingham Contemporary, one of the largest modern art centres in the UK.

The conference will cover topical issues, including new technology, tools and media platforms, associated with developing professional journalists across all sectors.

Stephen Rosenthal, Google’s UK communications manager said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the NCTJ and are looking forward to sharing some ideas on technology that can help the next generation of journalists make the most of the tools available to them.”

NCTJ chief executive Joanne Butcher added: “We are thrilled that Google is demonstrating its commitment to quality journalism by supporting our conference. Digital skills and understanding the newest technologies are key competencies for today’s journalists and with Google’s help we will be looking at some of the latest developments.”

The Journalism Skills Conference brings together decision-makers in journalism’s education, training and industry sectors and is a must-attend annual event for those who are passionate about quality multimedia journalism. The conference will also be an occasion to network and celebrate the achievements of those involved in journalism education and training.

To book your place at the conference, please complete the booking form available on the website.
