Fourteen candidates shortlisted in first round of 2019

Fourteen aspiring journalists have been shortlisted in the first of four Journalism Diversity Fund application rounds of 2019.

Fourteen aspiring journalists have been shortlisted in the first of four Journalism Diversity Fund application rounds of 2019.

Two panels of senior industry figures will interview the shortlisted candidates at Bloomberg in London on Friday, 26 April.

Bursaries are awarded to those who have a passion for journalism, financial need and can demonstrate how they will bring diversity to the newsroom.

Bursaries can help cover the costs of NCTJ course fees and/or travel and living expenses while studying.

The second application round of 2019 is now open, with a deadline of Wednesday, 3 July.
