Danny Bell, who graduated from City College Brighton and Hove this summer, has won the NCTJ Public Affairs Award for 2010-11.

Danny receives a certificate and a cheque for £250 sponsored by Oxford University Press, in recognition of his exceptional performance in the Essential Public Affairs exam.

He gained communications experience prior to taking the course working for an environmental NGO in Brussels. It was this which inspired him to complete his NCTJ training after considering it for a quite a long time. Danny has previously worked in the legal and financial services sectors and is now working as a researcher for The Legal 500.

Speaking about his win, Danny said: “I am delighted to have won this year’s prize. The Public Affairs module was challenging and gave everyone in my class a thorough grounding in current affairs as well as local and central government. Karen, our teacher, was first-class.”
