Bursary recipient shortlisted for award

Bursary recipient Christian Campbell has been shortlisted in the 2011 NCTJ Awards for Excellence in Journalism.

Bursary recipient Christian Campbell has been shortlisted in the 2011 NCTJ Awards for Excellence in Journalism.
Christian, who recently completed the PgDip Newspaper Journalism course at the University of Central Lancashire, has been shortlisted in the Top Scoop/exclusive (student) category for his story about planned funding cuts which was published in The Times earlier this year.

Twenty six students on NCTJ-accredited courses and trainee journalists working towards the NCE have been shortlisted in the following categories:

  • News journalism
  • Sports journalism
  • Top Scoop/exclusive
  • Features of the year

Final judging will now take place and the winners will be announced at the Society of Editors’ conference in Egham on 14 November.
