The Sky Sports News’ graduate placement scheme for 2014/15 is now open. The closing date for applications is 25 January 2014.
About the scheme:

At Sky Sports News we pride ourselves on being first with the breaking news, and this is your chance to join us on an exciting 11-month placement where you’ll learn from some of the best in the business.

Starting summer 2014, you’ll have the opportunity to gain brilliant experience working as part of one of the best production teams in the business. Joining our respected journalists, you’ll be working on Britain and Ireland’s fastest and most trusted sports news channel.

In the 11-months you’re with us, you’ll be exposed to all aspects of our 24-hour news operation, everything from script writing to shadowing one of our top reporters. And not forgetting, all aspects of researching and planning your own stories.

If you have the creativity and natural journalistic flair, we’ll give you the encouragement and support you need to take your ideas forward. Some of our previous graduates are now working for us full-time, so this could be the beginning of your career in broadcast journalism.

So, if you’re in your final year of an undergraduate or postgraduate accredited journalism degree, with 100 words per minute shorthand and you share our passion for sport, we can’t wait to hear from you.
