Three long-serving members of the NCTJ media law board were thanked for years of dedicated service as they received a fond farewell from colleagues.

Campbell Williams, Peter Tate and Walter Greenwood attended their last board meeting in London on Friday 12th June.

As board members the three have been responsible for formulating questions for the NCTJ media law exams and their work has helped a generation of news reporters to understand the intricacies of media law.

Walter Greenwood is a name particularly well-known to all NCTJ trained journalists as he was joint author, with Tom Welsh, and later David Banks, of McNae’s Essential Law for Journalists.

All three board members were thanked for their service and presented with a gift of book tokens by current media law board chairman Mark Hanna.
