Video producer, Times Luxury – The Times & The Sunday Times (London)
Job summary
The video producer role forms an important part of The Times and The Sunday Times digital content creation strategy, responsible for filming and editing high-quality luxury video for our smartphone app, website and social media channels.
The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of The Times and The Sunday Times audiences – present and future, as well as a strong idea of Times LUXX as a brand.
You will have experience in filming and editing creative lifestyle video content for online platforms and a strong portfolio showcasing your cinematography skills and creativity. You will need to be able to engage our readers with thoughtful storytelling and imaginative visual treatment of luxury video. You should be as comfortable editing one-minute pieces for social as you are editing longer commissioned features for YouTube and article embeds.
You are excited about the opportunity to work on diverse projects, covering all of LUXX’s content pillars and a variety of video styles.
Working within the Luxury vertical, you will have access to experienced video producers for advice and guidance, as well as the wider editorial team.
Key skills and responsibilities
- Proficiency in videography techniques, including camera operation on a range of interchangeable lens cameras, lighting, composition, colour grading and audio recording
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; some understanding of Adobe After Effects is also desirable
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards managing equipment and resources, ensuring that productions run smoothly and efficiently
- Strong storytelling abilities and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to translate concepts into visually compelling narratives
- Have a strong understanding of LUXX as a brand, as well as a deep understanding of aesthetics and trends within the luxury industry
- NCTJ or equivalent qualification and excellent writing skills
- Able to juggle both longer form and highly produced videos with quicker turnaround video, with a natural understanding of what type of video works on which platform
- Be comfortable working in a team on collaborative projects as well as working on solo projects delivered to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of creatives and build strong relationships with brands, colleagues, and interview subjects
- Have a positive, flexible attitude to your work and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
