We’re on the hunt for a creative, driven storyteller who can uncover, craft, and deliver digital news stories that captivate audiences. You’ll use sharp editorial judgment and creative flair to turn ideas into must-read content that informs, inspires, and sparks conversation.
This role will be based in our New York Hub so we are therefore open to candidates based in or commutable to New York. You will be required to be flexible around evening and weekend shifts.

Reach Plc is the UK’s largest commercial news publisher. We’re home to more than 130 trusted brands, from national titles like the Mirror, Express, Daily Record and Daily Star, to local brands like MyLondon, BelfastLive and the Manchester Evening News.
Since the start of 2023, we have been building out our US operation, headquartered at 200 Liberty St, New York. We’ve launched three standalone brands in the Mirror US, Express US and the Irish Star, covering news, sport, entertainment, politics and lifestyle – all targeted at US audiences.

About this role
Reporting to the Deputy Showbiz & TV Editor, you’ll work with a dynamic team of editors, reporters, and social pros to create standout entertainment-focused stories. You’ll spot the next big talking points – pitching, producing, and publishing engaging digital content that grabs attention. From monitoring TV shows, news programmes and award ceremonies to covering red carpets, press junkets, and exclusive interviews, you’ll be at the centre of the action. With sharp editorial judgment, creative flair, and strong SEO and social savvy, you’ll craft must-read stories that uphold the highest journalistic standards.
What you’ll need to succeed:
We’re looking for a talented storyteller with a knack for crafting original, captivating news – from breaking stories to digital-first features that connect with audiences. You’ll work at pace, thrive under pressure, and bring sharp interviewing, investigative, and editorial skills.
You’ll have proven experience at a national or major regional publication, a degree in Journalism or a related field, and a strong grasp of SEO, analytics (Chartbeat, Google Analytics), and digital publishing tools. Collaborative, creative, and audience-focused, you bring determination, imagination, and a passion for delivering stories that stand out. A good understanding of media law is essential.
