PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £41,200 – £51,200 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Produce impactful short-form content across BBC News platforms, working closely with investigative teams to tell compelling stories.
- Create multi-platform journalism, including video, TV, radio, text, and digital formats; targeted at younger and underserved audiences.
- Collaborate effectively with journalists and teams across BBC News and World Service Languages to deliver cohesive investigations.
- Lead editorially complex investigations, bringing significant experience in forensic and investigative journalism.
- Oversee content rollout, coordinating with internal editorial teams and external stakeholders to maximise reach and impact.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Extensive experience in digital, radio, and TV news production, with a strong track record of creating high-quality text and video content using tools like FCP, QEdit, CPS/OPTIMO, and Stitch.
- Strong editorial judgment and writing ability, with proven skills in producing engaging, multimedia content tailored to diverse audiences and platforms.
- Effective team collaboration, with experience working across multiple teams and resolving conflicts constructively.
- Expertise in social media content creation, with a history of producing impactful stories across language services and reaching new audiences using best practices and BBC/WS social strategy.
- Proficiency in audience analytics, using data tools to track performance, identify trends, and inform editorial decisions.
- Thorough understanding of BBC editorial policy, investigative procedures, and legal considerations, especially when handling sensitive or complex stories.
- Knowledge of World Service Languages and regions, with insight into search and social optimisation, and ideally fluency in a second language and familiarity with at least one WS region.
