📰 About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Journalist to join our Media team. You will take ownership of key beats in the iGaming industry, covering regulation, M&A, product launches, and market entries, while delivering fast, accurate, integrity-first journalism.

In this role, you will produce daily news stories, break exclusives, and deliver explainers and analysis that help industry professionals understand the evolving landscape. You will also collaborate with our Media, Research, and Event teams to bring NEXT.io content to life across digital, social, and live formats, while mentoring junior reporters and contributing to our editorial playbooks.

 

Key Responsibilities

News coverage

• Report daily on regulation, M&A, product launches, and market developments

• File timely, accurate stories with minimal editing required

Exclusives and analysis

• Build and maintain a strong network of industry sources

• Land regular exclusives and scoops

• Produce explainers and analysis pieces with data and clear insights

Editorial standards and SEO

• Uphold NEXT.io’s integrity-first editorial standards: accuracy, fairness, transparency, and proper attribution

• Apply news SEO best practices: headlines, metadata, internal linking, schema

Collaboration and mentoring

• Work closely with the Head of Media, News Editor, Research, and Events teams

• Contribute to cross-format storytelling with podcasts, spotlights, and live event coverage

• Mentor junior reporters and support knowledge-sharing across the newsroom

 

Requirements

• 3–6+ years of newsroom experience covering business, regulation, or technology (iGaming or adjacent industries strongly preferred)

• Proven ability to break news and develop strong sources

• Excellent writing, editing, and headline-craft skills

• Ability to explain complex topics with clarity and accuracy

• Working knowledge of SEO and digital distribution best practices

• Strong time management and deadline discipline

• Commitment to editorial integrity and brand safety

 

Nice to Have

• Experience with investigative methods, public records, or regulatory filings

• Comfort with on-camera or podcast appearances

• Familiarity with data visualisation or charting tools

• Knowledge of the iGaming industry’s regulatory and commercial landscape

📰 About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Reporter (Europe) to join our newsroom. This is an entry-level editorial role based in the UK or mainland Europe (CET-friendly time zone). You will be responsible for covering daily iGaming news in English, with a particular focus on reviewing, editing, and publishing press releases for our B2B News support package.

This role is ideal for a motivated journalist at the start of their career who wants to sharpen reporting skills, develop industry knowledge, and grow into a trusted voice capable of delivering exclusives and deeper analysis. You’ll work closely with our News Editor (Conor), Senior/Staff Journalists, the Website Master, the Research & Insights team, and Marketing to ensure NEXT.io remains the go-to source for iGaming news.

 

Key Responsibilities

News coverage

• Write and publish daily news updates in English across regulation, M&A, product launches, and industry developments.

• Ensure copy is accurate, clear, and filed on time with minimal editing required.

Press release support

• Act as the go-to person for NEXT.io’s press release support package.

• Receive, review, edit, and publish all incoming press releases to the B2B News section, ensuring quality, accuracy, and clear labelling.

Editorial standards

• Uphold NEXT.io’s editorial integrity and styleguide.

• Apply best practices in sourcing, attribution, and conflict-of-interest checks.

Collaboration & support

• Support Senior Journalists on explainers, feature pieces, and event coverage.

• Work with the Website Master to optimise headlines, metadata, schema, and internal linking.

• Coordinate with Marketing on content packaging and distribution.

Growth & sourcing

• Begin building a source tracker of European iGaming contacts (operators, suppliers, regulators, affiliates).

• Contribute to explainers and gradually move toward original reporting and exclusives.

 

Requirements

• Native-level English writing ability.

• 0–2 years of newsroom, journalism, or editorial experience (internships welcome).

• Strong grammar, accuracy, and headline-writing skills.

• Ability to adapt press releases into engaging, editorial-standard B2B news.

• Organised, deadline-driven, and reliable.

• Committed to accuracy, transparency, and editorial integrity.

• Based in the UK or Europe with CET-friendly working hours.

 

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with SEO best practices (keywords, metadata, internal linking).

• Interest in the iGaming industry, business, regulation, or technology.

• Experience with live event coverage or on-camera/podcast appearances.

• Early exposure to data and analytics in media publishing.
