Newsquest in Stourbridge has a vacancy for a reporter to join our newsroom team covering a vibrant and diverse news patch.

The successful candidate will be producing breaking news and trusted local content for publication online and in print for our stable of titles covering the Black Country and north Worcestershire

We are seeking an ambitious, digitally skilled and versatile journalist to create high-quality content for our digital-first editions using the latest industry best practice to ensure we are giving people stories they want to read.

You could be reporting on the latest breaking news, covering crime, telling powerful human interest stories or championing the best of our communities.

The job will also include immersing yourself in social media, developing relationships with contacts and understanding what matters to the local community.

The role would suit a trainee looking for their first role in a newsroom or a senior journalist looking for a new opportunity. If your degree is not NCTJ accredited we will provide the relevant additional training for you to become a fully NCTJ qualified journalist.

Newsquest Stourbridge has a strong track record for trainees going on to achieve the gold standard NCTJ qualification while seniors will be able to continue their development with regular training sessions from our Digital Optimisation Team.

Please note a clean driving licence and your own transport is essential.
