Reporter – Insurance Times – London

The Insurance Times seeks a Reporter to join us in sourcing and writing a wide range of content, including exclusive news, analysis features and interviews for the brand’s website, social media channels
and print publication. The primary focus is producing high‑quality, accurate, engaging and informative
daily news content about the UK general insurance market.
Alongside day‑to‑day news writing, the Reporter will contribute longer‑form analysis pieces, support events coverage (such as webinars, conferences and awards), post content on social media, and represent the brand at external industry events.
A key part of the role is building and maintaining a strong network of relevant industry contacts, including spokespeople and PRs, to support content development.

The Reporter may also be assigned a specific subject‑matter patch where deeper relationship‑building will be especially important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate, informative daily news content to tight deadlines.
  • Write exclusive stories, analysis features and interviews.
  • Contribute both on‑diary and off‑diary content ideas.
  • Post content across relevant social media channels.
  • Set up and send email newsletters when required.
  • Support event coverage, including webinars, conferences and award reporting.
  • Actively participate in weekly content meetings with ideas and updates.
  • Represent Insurance Times professionally at external industry events.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts, including spokespeople and PRs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across editorial, events, research, subscriptions and commercial.
  • Work flexibly when needed and attend relevant industry events.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent writing ability with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight daily deadlines.
  • Confident communicator able to interview industry professionals and build relationships.
  • Interest in, or willingness to develop expertise in, the UK general insurance market.
  • Ability to produce news stories, analysis pieces and interviews to a professional standard.
  • Understanding of (or willingness to learn) digital publishing tools and social media best practice.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Self‑starter with plenty of creative ideas and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Reliable team player who collaborates well in a hybrid working environment.
