Reporter – Hyde News & Pictures (Home Counties)

We have two exciting reporter vacancies for candidates who are NCTJ-trained or are soon to complete their NCTJ course.

As one of the leading news agencies in the UK, Hyde News & Pictures Ltd is very well established and works almost exclusively for national newspapers, news websites  and TV, covering the South of England.

Our former journalists have landed top jobs with the Daily Telegraph, the Sun, the Daily Mail, the Daily Express, the Times and the Press Association, to name just a handful.

We now need resourceful NCTJ-trained or trainee reporters who will (hopefully) have shorthand, a clean driving licence and a car. The successful candidate will live in or be prepared to relocate to the Home Counties (Berkshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire).

The job is very varied and you will be guided in turning your hand from fulfilling a commission from the Sunday Times to producing a fun, breezy and quirky page lead for the Sun. You will also be trained to cover crown courts, inquests and tribunals as well as breaking news of double murders and similar mayhem.

In short, I’m looking for ambitious candidates who can work with my team of very talented journalists and photographers to produce daily website and print edition stories in the South of England. A salary ranging from £24,000 to £28,000 is on offer for the right person.  Please email a covering letter and your CV to Neil.Hyde@hnpnews.co.uk

Please mention the NCTJ when applying.
