The Digital Production Desk at Reuters in Bangalore is looking for a Multimedia News Producer to help curate, package and deliver the most important news to Reuters.com and media clients. Working at the heart of Reuters’ global news operation, you will play a key role in bringing together text, video, photos and graphics to create compelling digital experiences for audiences worldwide.

 

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Multimedia News Producer,

  • you will be part of the India digital desk in Bangalore, editing, localizing and publishing stories with relevant multimedia assets for Reuters.com and for media clients subscribing to our ready-to-publish products through Reuters Ready.
  • Reuters is transforming how news is produced through AI-enabled workflows that help journalists discover, curate, package and deliver news more efficiently. Successful candidates will be expected to embrace AI-powered tools, contribute to newsroom innovation, and help shape the future of trusted journalism while maintaining Reuters’ highest editorial standards.
  • This is a 24/7 operation involving shift work and regular weekend coverage.
  • Act as a human-in-the-loop editor for AI-assisted production workflows, evaluating and refining AI-generated story packages, headlines, metadata and multimedia recommendations while ensuring compliance with Reuters editorial standards, ethics and governance requirements.
  • Monitor Reuters text, photo and video services to identify misses, if any, and promote the most important and engaging stories for digital audiences.
  • Collaborate with editors across Asia, Europe and the Americas to curate and design the Reuters homepage and other key landing pages.
  • Proofread and quality-check social media posts, mobile alerts, Google panels, corrections and other digital publishing outputs.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, speed and editorial judgment while operating in a fast-paced, real-time news environment.
  • Contribute feedback on AI-enabled tools and workflows to support continuous improvement and innovation.

 

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Multimedia News Producer if your background includes:

  • Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field from a reputed university or institute.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in a news agency, newspaper, digital publisher or television newsroom.
  • Strong news judgment and the ability to prioritize competing stories quickly and accurately.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of politics, business, economics, policy, markets, technology, sports, entertainment and global affairs.
  • Experience working with multimedia content, including photos, video and digital storytelling formats.
  • Experience working with digital publishing platforms, newsroom tools or content management systems.
  • Demonstrated interest in AI-enabled newsroom workflows and a willingness to adopt emerging editorial technologies.
  • Curiosity about how AI can improve newsroom efficiency and audience experiences, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning and experimentation.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure.
  • Comfortable working in an AI-augmented newsroom and leveraging approved AI tools to support editorial workflows.
  • Understanding of the opportunities and risks of AI in journalism, including the importance of human oversight, source verification, accuracy and ethical use.
  • Good understanding of digital publishing technologies, audience engagement and multimedia storytelling.
  • Analyzing audience needs and deliver content that is relevant, engaging and valuable to Reuters’ global digital audiences.
