Junior Creative Lead – 12 Month FTC

The Junior Creative Lead will work across multiple campaigns and partnerships across The Sun, The Times and Sunday Times and is responsible for generating and executing brilliant ideas that bring an advertiser's brand story to life for our audiences.

Job Description

The Team: The creative lead team is made of editors, creative producers and journalists who think up and deliver the best blend of editorial, branding, social sharing and interactive content for News UKs commercial clients.  Our team is truly multi-disciplined with expertise across digital, video, print, radio, events and social. We pride ourselves on our editorial and commercial expertise and diversity of skill sets that gives our Studio teams the ability to find and present the most compelling stories.

Your Role: The Junior Creative Lead will work across multiple campaigns and partnerships across The Sun, The Times and Sunday Times and is responsible for generating and executing brilliant ideas that bring an advertiser’s brand story to life for our audiences.

Sitting within a team of senior and mid-weight Creative Leads, this is an opportunity for a newly graduated or first job creative to develop their career with the opportunity to work across multiple brands from multiple disciplines whilst under the banner of some of the world’s greatest newsbrands.

Day to day you will:

  • Generate, develop and produce original ideas and content strategy to client and agency briefs
  • Be truly platform agnostic when developing content ideas with the ability to make content work cross platform with due consideration for both commercial brand effectiveness and audience user journey
  • Work with data and insight teams to build a strategy for why a creative idea will work and deliver for clients and brands
  • Be client facing, attend client pitches and contribute to building strong client and agency relationships together with Project Management and Sales.
  • Determine the best ideas/stories/angles to deliver the needs of each campaign and establish the correct tone of voice for engaging the target audience
  • Commission writers /creatives, negotiate and secure talent contracts
  • Take responsibility for editorial costs budget for campaigns and report regularly to Project Management
  • Build successful relationships and gain the respect and trust of clients & internal stakeholders

What we are looking for from you:

  • Excellent storytelling ability to generate and develop ideas that work cross platform for brands and resonate with mass audiences
  • Proven ability in managing and shaping a brief from conception to execution.
  • Good copy writing skills
  • Experience of training in a creative discipline;  editing, producing, writing and commissioning content and talent for print, video, digital, social and other platforms
  • Excellent communication skills – the ability to explain a concept or idea clearly and succinctly to clients and internal/external stakeholders
  • Have a solid understanding of the commercial content market and how to produce content for commercial brands, clients and agencies
  • Be well versed in social media-specific concepts with an understanding of execution formats and creative best practice for social media networks; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn and YouTube
