CONTRACT TYPE: 4 month FTC
DEPARTMENT: Money, Work & Tech
LOCATION: Salford
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- We need a talented storyteller who can tell complicated stories in an accessible and creative way.
- You’ll be comfortable finding and persuading real people directly affected by big economic changes to tell their stories.
- Your main role will be planning for our daily output: writing briefs, setting up and carrying out filming, and working on outside broadcasts.
- You will also have the opportunity to plan and produce our set-piece broadcasts for big events like the Budget.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE – KEY SKILLS
- Strong organisation skills: able to juggle multiple complex tasks at the same time while under pressure.
- Proven experience and ability to research and fact-check complex topics.
- Excellent communication skills: able to persuade people to tell their stories.
- Creative: able to come up with lots of original ideas and suitable TV treatments for them.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- TV experience is desirable but not essential
- Experience of, or a keen interest in, money and work journalism is important. You’ll have an inquiring mind and be keen to learn. We’re a friendly, knowledgeable team at Money and Work, and will help you to fill in the gaps in your knowledge
- Experience of working with crews to gather content and writing scripts.
- Proficient in Wolftech and Openmedia
