Event Producer – News UK (London)

Your role: The Event Producer will be accountable for the delivery and execution of NUK events reporting to the Head of Event Production.

Key to this role is supporting our titles and bringing our brands to life, creating best-in-class content programmes supporting our editorial and marketing objectives.

The Event Producer has the responsibility for the event production of their events. Working closely with the whole News Live team, the Event Producer will be required to maintain a high level of internal and external client satisfaction and meet KPIs agreed upon meeting the different stakeholder’s requirements.

Day to day you will:

  • Work with Head of Event Production & Head of Conferencing, to deliver best in-class customer & stakeholder experience for News UK.
  • Work with the other producers on brief management of commercial event solutions, responding to briefs on time, with correctly costed up budgets (ensuring it includes a sufficient level of contingency & resource support).
  • Identify & understand stakeholder objectives and ensure you deliver on KPIs set by lead/support the delivery of these.
  • Identify stakeholder’s needs and challenges, gaining mutual trust and respect.
  • Creation &  development of your stakeholder’s event proposition, working closely with stakeholders to manage your event on time and on/under budget.
  • Work with the Head of Programming and The Head of Conferencing to deliver on key stakeholder KPIs.
  • Manage event coordinator & freelancers (where applicable), supporting them with workload management & learning new skills.
  • Liaise with existing and new suppliers and venues, working with the Head of Event Productions to negotiate the best price in order to drive down costs.
  • Manage and monitor financial forecasting, billing and processes for your events, including a firm control of department spend and reconciliation.
  • Work with internal teams to gain support in what we deliver, making events work harder.
  • Create regular reports for activity, evaluation, ticket sales, member feedback and insight.
  • Ensure effective communication/project management from brief to post-campaign analysis.
  • Support the Head of Event Production by feeding into reports for the Director of Operations. This includes the daily management of your projects on Smartsheets/ Project Management systems to aid successful reporting and allow real time & transparency of projects to the rest of the team.
  • Promote and represent the events team across the business.
  • Support customer data strategy – working closely with the Marketing Communications Manager support the collection of data, customer feedback and delivering this information back into the business

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Demonstrable event management experience, including setting and delivering on event campaign KPIs.
  • Experience in responding to client and agency briefs and delivering successful pitches.
  • Experience in content creation e.g. programming events, and recruiting speakers.
  • Proven track record in organising small, medium and large scale events, experiential and brand communications activity.
  • Ability to deliver projects on-brand and brief within challenging timescales.
  • Setting budgets and maintaining margins for varying sizes of budgets and events.
  • Be commercially skilled and minded, with the ability to consider client growth and business development.
  • Strong understanding of event marketing and audience engagement/customer experience.
  • Travel, weekend and evening work required. (lieu time given for out of hours work)
