Editor, Mid Wales Journal & South Shropshire Journal – National World (Telford)

A rare opportunity has opened up for a proven journalist who wants to make a difference.

The Mid Wales Journal serves a thriving community, a paid-for weekly newspaper that is confident not only to report the news but to shape it, dealing with important issues and campaigning and challenging where necessary.

The right candidate will be responsible for the Mid Wales Journal and its sister edition the South Shropshire Journal. They will be part of a team looking after proud weekly and daily titles that serve MidWales, Shropshire and the West Midlands.

The successful candidate will be confident in standing up for and supporting our readers, as well as seeking opportunities to enhance daily coverage on shropshirestar.com through written content and video. They will also work closely with our commercial team to identify revenue opportunities.

This role is perfect for an experienced journalist who enjoys taking on a challenge and wants to be part of the team producing respected newspapers and websites at the Midland News Association.

This role is hybrid based, working from home with the option of working from Telford office.
