The role of Digital Football Journalist is to produce, create and co-ordinate digital editorial content across Sky Sports Digital Media platforms (www.skysports.com, and Sky Sports Mobile applications) and third party distribution channels. Reporting to the Output Editor this is a key role that will ensure Sky Sports remains the destination of choice for sports fans, creates revenue opportunities and continues to add value to the Sky Sports subscription.
The role will involve regular weekend working, ad hoc shift patterns and may include some overnight working.
What You’ll Do:
- Creating and writing vibrant digital football content – football news and live football coverage – of the highest standard.
- Writing under pressure to tight deadlines, especially in a live blogging / match reporting environment.
- Supporting the production of video and audio content when required.
- Producing in-depth features and conduct interviews.
- Working closely with digital video and social teams to place relevant video in most popular stories to support commercial targets
- Assisting in making editorial decisions and manage digital football indexes.
- Collaborating with multiple areas of Sky Sports to ensure we are producing aligned and consistent content that showcases the best of Sky Sports and supports specific business KPI’s.
- Ensuring optimum search engine optimisation techniques are applied to all content.
- Conforming to the highest standard of web writing by ensuring that relevant guidelines (including brand guidelines), processes and policies for digital content are fully adhered to Maintain excellent knowledge of current sporting issues and stories.
