Deputy Editor – Mark Allen (London)

DEPUTY EDITOR –  (IVT)

THE LEADING GLOBAL BRAND FOR INDUSTRIAL VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY, DESIGN AND ENGINEERING

Do you want to be involved in creating a high-end print magazine that is recognised and respected across the international off-highway machinery industry? Develop a multimedia presence for the brand by getting involved in making YouTube videos, recording podcasts, writing web stories and growing social media engagement. Travel the world to report from off-highway machinery expos from Munich to Las Vegas. Then we’d like to hear from you!

Mark Allen is a growing media organisation, with 555 MAG-nificent individuals to date and we are recruiting a Deputy Editor to join the team of this market-leading title. The role would suit a candidate with existing hands-on experience in print magazine production and would provide the opportunity to learn multimedia skills and develop towards a more senior role in the future.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office, with a starting salary of £29,000. We will provide on-the-job training where required so you feel fully supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Every aspect of print magazine production from raw copy editing to layout and proofing
    • Writing news stories and features
    • Updating the magazine website and social media channels, and creating news emailers
    • Liaising closely with clients to create useful and informative advertorials
    • Assisting the editor with commissioning, flat-planning and cover creation
    • Covering for the editor in their absence
    • Creating YouTube videos and podcasts
    • Hosting webinars
    • Visiting international events and representing the brand
    • Providing website cover across 12 titles in the MAB Aviation & Auto portfolio

Minimum requirements: At least a year’s magazine production and writing experience; a good working knowledge of InDesign; valid passport and willingness to travel; good interpersonal and client relation skills.

A knowledge of off-highway mobile machinery is not essential, but an interest in technical journalism and the ability to conduct in-depth interviews and translate them into sparkling, easy-to-read copy is.

Industrial Vehicle Technology International has been the touchstone of the off-highway vehicle engineering community for the past 30 years. Giving unrivalled insight into every aspect of the design systems and technology that go into building mobile machinery for construction, agriculture, mining, forestry, material handling and more
