This role is pivotal to the success of our senior creative team, and an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity across our various magazine brands including OK!, New Magazine and the magazine supplements for the Mirror, Express and Daily Star.

This is a maternity cover, fixed term contract role, initially for 9 months, starting in October 2024.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.

Job Description

What will the role involve?

You will directly support the Art Editor to deliver eye-catching page layouts across multiple print titles in keeping with each brand’s specific identity and style. You will assist with design and status of all live and advance magazine issues, as well as the overall day to day of the art desk. You will work closely with the senior editorial team to develop and embrace new working practices to increase content sharing among titles.

You will act as a role model and support figure for the rest of the creative team, working together to maintain and communicate clear brand identities for all our magazine and supplement titles, always keeping our readers in mind.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

You are an experienced and innovative Deputy Editor or Senior designer with exceptional design skills and a thorough understanding of our magazines brands. You have experience working within a fast paced, magazine environment and you know how to create varied and show stopping layouts that match different house styles. You have a proven track record of working in a creative team at a senior level.

You have a bursting contact book and can utilise your network to help source creative content for our various magazines and supplements, ideally within the celebrity space. You are passionate about making your creative ideas a reality and can inspire your team to do the same. You have a portfolio of highly creative work you can showcase and excellent people motivation skills.
