Chief Sub Editor – Sky News (Osterley)

As a Chief Sub-editor for the Sky News website and app, you will have the power to influence the day’s news agenda and lead amongst our rivals. You must be a fast, dynamic, and multi-skilled journalist, and have a flair for headline-writing and spotting a top line. You will write, sub and edit stories ranging from quick breaking news leads and explainers to features and forensic investigations, as well as be responsible for sending push notifications to millions of Sky News readers.

What you’ll do:

• Find, pitch, sub and edit news stories to the highest of standards, ensuring all stories are legally sound
• Polish all aspects of our output including text, video and stills.
• Form the last line of defence against legal and editorial mistakes.
• Provide constructive feedback to reporters.
• Step up to lead the team when required.
