LOCATION: Guernsey
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,600 – £37,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
The role also qualifies for Channel Island weighting – £5,319/annum if you work full-time, or the pro-rata equivalent if you work part-time.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Producing high quality, daily radio, and digital content that surprises, informs and connects.
- Writing sharp, clear scripts and creating powerful audio rooted in what matters locally.
- Opportunity to present live 4-hour radio programmes across the schedule.
- Using a range of audio production techniques and editing tools.
- Collaborating across the wider BBC Local network and building strong community contacts.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Strong experience in audio production and journalism, with sharp editorial judgement.
- A passion for local life and an ability to spot stories from different perspectives.
- An accomplished presentation style and experience handling live radio, breaking news, or speech content.
- Solid understanding of BBC Editorial Guidelines, impartiality, and broadcast law.
- Excellent people skills and a collaborative approach.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and represent the BBC professionally.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience developing and supporting presenters or being part of a presenter/producer partnership.
- A track record creating speech-based features for daily radio programmes.
- Experience of, and confidence with, new tech, social platforms, and creative digital storytelling.
