AI-Assisted Reporter – Hereford

Newsquest is looking for an AI‑Assisted Reporter to help expand the use of AI in producing content for its busy Hereford and Bucks and Berks newsrooms.

You’ll be working at the forefront of Newsquest’s digital transformation, blending traditional journalism with AI‑supported drafting tools to speed up workflows while maintaining accuracy and journalistic standards.

Key Responsibilities

Check factual accuracy of content.
Work with AI systems to help draft news articles while applying your own editorial judgement.
Ensure all content meets legal, ethical, and accuracy standards.
Efficiently upload and manage stories using AI‑powered tools.
Monitor AI‑generated content to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with existing editorial teams to integrate AI outputs.
Train other reporters in AI usage when needed.
Stay updated on AI tools and journalism best practices.
Meet agreed content targets.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

NCTJ diploma or equivalent.
Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong understanding of journalistic principles and media law.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Creativity and willingness to experiment with new tools and techniques.
Ability to analyse data and use insights to inform content decisions.
