With media freedom comes responsibility, which is why it is vital for all journalists to know about the regulations they must abide by. This course will act as your guide to the work of IPSO, and to the requirements of the Editors’ Code of Practice.

This course is for anyone who wants to understand the principles and practice of press regulation in the UK and to develop their knowledge of the Independent Press Standards Organisation and the work that it does.

It is designed with both prospective and working journalists in mind, though it might also appeal to people who don’t work in journalism but want to know more about the standards that the industry works for.

The course will take around 2-3 hours to work through. You can start at any time and work at your own pace.
