This highly practical 35-week sports journalism course is taught in the News Associates newsroom in the heart of south London and is designed to prepare all trainees for life as a journalist.
Delivered in association with Britain’s leading sports press agency Sportsbeat, our sports journalism course is the best of its kind, repeatedly topping the league tables.
You’ll be in the office for four days a week and are required to spend a day a week on placement to gain vital real-world experience.
You can find our sports journalism alumni on the back pages of national newspapers, presenting and reporting on Sky Sports News, or working internationally for some of the most respected names in journalism from Reuters to Agence France-Presse.
Our sports journalism trainees cover all the same mandatory skills modules as trainees on our fast-track and part-time courses – with lots of sports journalism on top and many opportunities to cover live sporting events – so you are not pigeonholing yourself into sports journalism with this course if you don’t want to.

News Associates was a game changer for me. Journalism is competitive, especially in sport, so gaining practical, hands-on experience and being as well prepared as possible is crucial. The course opened my eyes to what was needed to build a career in sports media, thanks to the guidance of brilliant, knowledgeable tutors, and it opened doors too.Peter Rutzler, The Athletic
