BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism – News Associates London (in partnership with St Mary’s University)

On our BA Multimedia Journalism degree, you’ll learn directly from award-winning journalists at News Associates’ School of Journalism – the only place in London where you can study an NCTJ-accredited undergraduate journalism degree.

The School of Journalism isn’t a course built around textbooks and theory – it’s extremely practical, powered by a unique partnership between News Associates’ award-winning journalism training school and St Mary’s University. Together, we offer the perfect mix of real newsroom experience and excellent campus facilities.

From day one, you’ll be doing journalism. Our hands-on approach means you’ll develop the skills, confidence and creativity you need to thrive in today’s fast-moving media industry and because our degree is fully accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ), you’ll graduate with a university degree and the industry-standard NCTJ Diploma in Journalism – a massive advantage when applying for jobs in such a competitive industry.

Your classroom? A working London newsroom with state-of-the-art facilities where you’ll build your portfolio, grow your network, and learn how the industry really works. St Mary’s University, just minutes away, offers world-class sports and gym facilities, a library, computer suites, the students’ union bar, campus accommodation, and other student support services.

Every summer, we offer up to £1,000 to help you complete a work placement or launch your own journalism project. Want to report from another country? Create a multimedia documentary? Bring a bold new idea to life? We’ll help you make it happen.

You’ll also hit the ground running with an iPad provided on your first day, giving you everything you need to write, film, edit and publish wherever you are. We also cover the cost of your NCTJ registration and assessment.

If you’re passionate about sport, we’ve got you covered. Every trainee has the chance to specialise in sports journalism, delivered in association with Sportsbeat – SJA content agency of the year 2025.

Classes take place in our News Associates and The School of Journalism newsroom in Twickenham (TW1 3LP), just a short 15-minute walk from the St Mary’s University campus where you have access to student facilities. See for yourself what our trainees get up to on Instagram and TikTok. Find us on UCAS here.
