Sports journalism students report on Wembley play-offs

Two talented sports journalism students reported from Wembley at the weekend thanks to a partnership between the NCTJ and the Football League.

The three best performing students in the NCTJ sports journalism exam were rewarded with trips to Wembley to cover the Championship, League 1 and League 2 play-off finals. Last week, Marcus Chippindale reported on the Championship final between West Ham and Blackpool and this week it was the turn of the second and third prize winners.

Will Wainewright, who studied at News Associates, London, reported on the League 1 play-off final between Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United on Saturday, covering an amazing 8-7 penalty shoot-out.
