The National Council for the Training of Journalists has appointed Emma Hart as its new marketing and communications manager. She will be based at the NCTJ’s offices in Newport, Essex and takes up the post with immediate effect.
A graduate from CASS Business School at City University, London, Emma has extensive experience at working within the training and communications industries and has worked with numerous blue chip companies on their portfolios. She has developed content and creative ideas for many successful campaigns across a wide range of formats including print media, websites and e-learning and also promotional events. Emma’s previous role was project manager at Ignition, a learning and communications agency based in Hertfordshire.
As marketing and communications manager, Emma will be responsible for the ongoing promotion of the charity’s work as well as developing future marketing strategies to ensure the NCTJ continues to be held in high regard and remains at the forefront of the industry. During this exciting period, part of the role will include continuing to develop new media communications and operating across all areas of the industry.
Announcing the appointment, Joanne Butcher, NCTJ chief executive, said: “Emma joins us at a time when the NCTJ is going through massive amounts of change. As our new marketing and communications expert she will play a pivotal role at the NCTJ and with her successful track-record has the potential to make an enormous contribution to our work.”
Emma said: “I am very excited to be joining the NCTJ and am looking forward to developing campaigns in support of world-class training and qualifications for journalists.”
