Senior Reporter, The Pharmacist (London)

Salary: £32,000 (depending on experience)

Pharmacy is one of the most rapidly changing sectors of the NHS, with expanding responsibilities for clinical pharmacists working on the high street and in general practice, bringing with that a range of political, clinical, professional and business challenges and opportunities.

For a journalist who is interested in health, this competitive area is ripe for investigations, exclusives and informative news, to support our pharmacist community to thrive as they navigate future pharmacy clinical and business models.

We are looking for a senior reporter to join our editorial team, to bring their broad skills in quality journalism to our award-winning publication The Pharmacist.

News, ground-breaking features and data-led investigations will be on your daily agenda, along with involvement in additional projects such as roundtables, reports and plans for a podcast.

Key skills will include extensive contact building, developing a good understanding of the day-to-day priorities of working pharmacists, seeking out key voices, attending events, clinical writing, data analysis, and searching out exclusives and leads for investigations.

This is a senior health reporter role, so you will have had at least two years of experience as a journalist, probably with some demonstrable experience of writing about health or science.

The senior reporter will report to the news editor and work closely with the editor.

The Pharmacist team works alongside our nursing publication Nursing in Practice, and there will also be opportunities to write across this sector at times. You will be involved in news meetings and other activities with the teams of all eight of our healthcare publications including our flagship title for GPs, Pulse, Healthcare Leader and Management in Practice.

We have exciting plans ahead for The Pharmacist and are looking for the right person to join our team, with bags of ambition, talent, drive and great ideas.

You will work within a wider team in an innovative health-focused publishing company that offers hybrid working and a central London office.

Please don’t hesitate to apply or to contact us for a chat about the role.
