Shorthand exam centres

If you are already an approved shorthand exam centre, staff can download exam schedules, key exam documentation and the full administration pack within the Tutor/Admin/Shorthand Resources exam logins.

If you are a new centre that would like to become an approved exam centre, the following guidelines must be adhered to:

  • only business or educational premises are acceptable
  • you must have an adequate examination room
  • invigilators must have experience of invigilating exams and be fully aware of the process and procedures before an NCTJ exam is first held

Please download and complete a shorthand exam centre application form and return it to us. Once your application is approved you will receive the current administration pack, including all key exam documentation and a centre approval number..

The NCTJ will carry out regular spot checks on centres and where a centre is found to be deviating, without permission, from the information given on the approval application form, or not abiding by the NCTJ’s examination conditions, approval may be withdrawn. Withdrawal of approval will apply to the invigilator and the premises.
