Annual reports

Each year the NCTJ publishes a report of its activities, including a financial review, and a quality assurance and standards report.

The NCTJ has published its Annual Report for 2022-23, this year alongside video updates from the NCTJ team.

Joanne Forbes, chief executive of the NCTJ, described the charity’s role as “even more vital in creating and assessing journalism standards” in an age of misinformation.

She details how the NCTJ is putting emphasis on raising awareness of the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can help journalists.

Kim Fletcher, chairman of the NCTJ, wrote in the report: “We believe – doesn’t everyone? – that the higher the standards of the media, the better for us all.

“That’s what we care about. We shall keep banging that drum.”
