Sub Editing

Currently the NCTJ accredits one dedicated sub-editing course. In order to obtain the preliminary Certificate in Journalism (Sub-editors) qualification, students must pass exams at grades A to C in the same core units as those on the newspaper reporting pathway to be eligible to sit the National Certificate Examination, but are required to take a sub-editing module instead of shorthand. Note that most newspaper editors insist on shorthand for reporting jobs.
