NCE report

In the spring of 2011, the NCTJ commissioned a report into the National Examination Certificate, looking at how the qualification is regarded by the industry and what needs to be done to ensure it remains the 'benchmark' in modern newsrooms.

The research included an online survey, telephone interviews and focus groups of editors, publishers and trainers. The review of the NCE followed 2010's successful introduction of the industry’s new entry-level qualification, the Diploma in Journalism
