New shorthand workshops from the NCTJ
Wednesday 11th May 2011
The NCTJ is running a series of one-day workshops for anyone who needs help with shorthand note-taking or needs to brush up their skills before sitting exams.
This workshop provides help with taking down selective notes, reporting quotes accurately and improving listening and selection skills.
The skill of identifying a key quote and accurately transcribing it is vital for the NCTJ’s senior National Certificate exam. The examiners in the March 2011 NCE again found that many candidates were getting into difficulties because of a tendency to take a verbatim note rather than listening and noting the essentials for the story.
Workshops will run in London on 9 June 2011 and 20 October 2011 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. To book a place please complete the form on the right.
Please note: This is not a Teeline shorthand speed-building workshop; shorthand theory will not be covered on this course. You will need to ensure your shorthand is at a minimum of 80wpm prior to attending the event.
If you require further information please contact the NCTJ short course manager Jan Alder.
