NCTJ sports journalism students will be reporting from the heart of London 2012 this summer after winning a range of sought-after roles during the Olympics.

NCTJ students from News Associates, Staffordshire University, St Mary’s University College and the University of Brighton have secured positions with the British Olympic Association (BOA), the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and ITV.

Meanwhile the University of Sunderland is playing host to the Grenada Olympic team and students on the NCTJ-accredited BA and MA Sports Journalism courses will be covering the team’s progress throughout the games, with privileged access to athletes including 400m World Champion Kirani James.

Neil Silver, a lecturer from Harlow College, will be supervising the Olympic News Service and News Associates lecturer James Toney will be running with the Olympic torch at the end of June.
