The judging panel is made up of editors and senior journalists. There will be no conflicts of interest in the judging process as panel members will not be able to judge an entrant with which he/she is associated.
After the closing date, Friday, 15 September 2017 judges will evaluate the submissions received and use the judging criteria to shortlist the applications. Two judges will be assigned per entry.
The shortlist will be published on the NCTJ website on Monday, 16 October. Winners will not be announced until the awards ceremony that will take place at the Awards for Excellence gala dinner on Thursday, 23 November.
All entries and supporting material will be destroyed after the awards presentation. Entries cannot be returned.
The NCTJ reserves the right to use information contained in the winning entries (except for personal data) for subsequent publicity, promotions and other activities relating to the Awards for Excellence.
All decisions of the judges are final and there is no right of appeal.
