Foundation course in news reporting

Duration: 6 months (min) - 2 years (recommended max)
Fee: £386 plus VAT

The Foundation Course in News Reporting is ideal for people who are unable to study an NCTJ accredited centre-based course.  Through studying the course, you will gain enough knowledge to sit the exams that make up the preliminary Certificate in Journalism.  This is the qualification that editors look for when employing a trainee.

This is a great course to study whilst working – perhaps as an editorial assistant or junior reporter.  If you are not working in the industry, you must ensure you get work experience and practice your skills.  The great thing about the distance learning course is that you can study it in your own time and at your own pace.

What former distance learners have said:

"Distance learning can be very daunting, with just reams of text and a number of books for company. Having the human touch in the form of telephone tutorial makes the learning process much more comfortable and helps make what you're learning easier to grasp." Sarah Poissonnier

“The course is very easy to navigate around and it's great that you can study anywhere on your laptop with it. It's an easy format and I can organise my notes a lot easier.”  Simon Hedges
