Self-motivation, energy and enthusiasm are what's needed to gain a place on the country's only fully NCTJ-accredited press photography/photo journalism course, at Norton College, Sheffield.
The selection panel will expect candidates to have good photographic knowledge, and to bring along some of their striking images. They are looking for commitment, drive and personality - and a capacity to look at the obvious and see something different - or better - by way of a news line and picture.
The 35-week course, for candidates with a minimum of one A-level or equivalent, runs from September. And there is a 12-week block release for working press photographers/photo-journalists each February.
