How to enter

To enter, you need to write a 200 word news story. It can be about events or issues in your local community, school or college, or your family. It must be original, unpublished work and include at least one direct quote as the result of an interview. You should submit your story to one of the participating newspapers.

The competition is open to anyone aged 16 to 18 years old and is running from 18 April 2011 to 27 May 2011 (check paper for regional variations).

If your local newspaper is not participating and you would like to enter the competition, you can email your entry to emma.hart@nctj.com, The winner from this round will have their article included on the website and also the NCTJ's email newsletter.
